نبذة مختصرة عن ولاية لوى

يقطنها حوالي 22 ألف نسمة ، يعيشون في 58 قرية ، يجاورها من الجنوب ولاية صحار ، ومن الشمال ولاية شناص ومن الغرب ولاية محضة وخليج عمان من الجانب الشرقي . وتضم عدد من القلاع والحصون والأبراج ،أهمها (قلعة لوى) التي تتألف من ثلاثة أبراج رئيسية تتمركز في أطراف السور المحيط بهذه القلعة ، وقلعة (فزح) التي يبلغ إرتفاعها مائة متر تقريباً . أما حصن (اولاد يعرب) فهو من الطين الأبيض ، ويقع على شاطئ البحر في منطقة حرمول ، كما ينتشر بالولاية وعلى قمم جبالها عدد من الأبراج . وبها أيضاً عدد من المساجد الأثرية ، أهمها مسجد الإمام الربيع بن حبيب ، وهو أحد علماء عمان الذي نشأ في قرية (غضفان) بالولاية . إلى جانب ذلك ، هناك بعض المعالم السياحية التي تتمثل في عدد من العيون والأفلاج والكهوف ، مثل عين "العزم" المحاذية لخور البحر ، والتي تنتشر على جانبها أشجار القرم وفي جبل أبو كهيف يوجد أشهر كهوف ولاية لوى ، وهناك حوالي عشرين فلجاً . وتشتهر الولاية بعدد من الصناعات التقليدية منها : الحصر ، الغزل والنسيج ، الأدوية الشعبية ، ومن أهم منتجاتها الزراعية : التمور ، الحمضيات ، المانجو ، الخضروات والأعلاف الحيوانية . ومن فنونها التقليدية : الرزحة ، رقصة البحر ، فن البلوش ، الميدان والليوا . وقد إمتدت إليها مسيرة الخير التنموية ، حيث حظيت بنصيب من قطاع الخدمات كغيرها من بقية الولايات ، فهناك 11 مدرسة لمختلف المراحل التعليمية ، كما يوجد بالولاية مركز صحي وعدد من المكاتب الحكومية التي تقوم على خدمة مواطنيها ورعايتهم
